CERES Computer Café: Ontologies in Life Sciences and Digital Humanities
CERES Palais, room "Gandhara" (1.11)
“Ontologies” as a technical concept describe formalized knowledge that allows computers to reason—within the limits of the knowledge it has been taught. Many disciplines have embraced this concept to make it easier to find relevant scientific information with the help of computer systems. Ludger Jansen will show examples from the Life Sciences and what the humanities can learn from them.
