  und nach Ablauf des Projekts stehen keine Projektmittel mehr zur Verfügu
 ng\, um online bereitgestellte Projektressourcen wie Datenbanken und Tools
  weiterzupflegen. Auch die Projektwebsite und ein das Projekt begleitendes
  Wissenschaftsblog sind ohne aktive Betreuung schnell technisch veraltet u
 nd früher oder später zwingen Sicherheitslücken im Code zum Abschalten 
 des Angebots.\n\nWir wollen uns über Erfahrungen und Ansätze austauschen
 \, wie mehr Nachhaltigkeit für die Forschungsergebnisse und Projektdokume
 ntation erreicht werden kann. Reicht es\, Daten in standardisierten Format
 en wie CSV\, JSON und XML im Repositorium abzulegen und Websites mit einem
  Static Site Generator in HTML und CSS zu erstellen\, möglicherweise ange
 reichert um dynamische Elemente in Javascript? Oder ist es besser\, langfr
 istig zentral gepflegte\, möglichst universelle und einfach an die Projek

 gsdaten nicht nur zugänglich zu publizieren\, sondern über standardisier
 te Beschreibungen und Links zwischen Datensammlungen auch leichter nachnut
 zbar und verknüpfbar zu machen. In den (digitalen) Geisteswissenschaften 
 ist das Interesse an LOD in den letzten Jahren merklich gestiegen. Gerade 
 für Disziplinen\, die weniger mit großen Mengen an Textdaten\, sondern m
 it detaillierten Objektbeschreibungen arbeiten\, etwa Archäologie und Kun
 stgeschichte\, bieten sich hier Potenziale.\n\nFrederik Elwert und Jessie

 s Centre\, Aarhus Universitet.\n\nHumans exhibit a species-unique capacity
  for long-term planning and future-oriented cognition. This ‘deep tempor
 ality’ is so fundamental to human behavior\, that it can be considered t
 he hallmark of our symbolically mediated environmental interactions. Cultu
 ral systems of symbolic production therefore exhibit long-range temporal d
 ependencies and non-linear dynamics that can present a challenge to conven
 tional methods in culture research. In this talk we present an approach th
 at combines Latent Dirichlet Allocation and Adaptive Fractal Analysis with
  concepts from Information Theory in order to detect change points and ano
 malies in cultural systems. To illustrate the approach’s application\, w
 e use two different dynamic cultural systems:\n\n\n	the collected writings
  of an influential Danish pastor and liberal thinker\, N.F.S. Grundtvig\;\
 n	and the Classical Chinese Book of History (Shang Shu) from the ctext cor
 pus.\n\n\nWe argue that\, when combined with sufficient domain knowledge i
 n language and culture\, the approach can be used to validate a set of gen
 eric theoretical claims about cultural stability and change.\n

 actice and materiality-based approaches to the histories of religion and o
 f science have called into question the very categories with which we do o
 ur studies\, requiring more flexible research tools. The recent emergence 
 of Buddhist and Daoist Medicine as new fields of historical inquiry challe
 nges the habitual borders between earlier histories of religion and medici
 ne. As historians begin to draw on long-known insights from anthropology\,
  that therapeutic and salvific aims frequently converge in practice\, they
  have begun to investigate the admixture of “medical” practices such a
 s drugs\, needles and moxibustion with “religious” practices such as i
 ncantation\, spells and rituals. However\, there is currently no systemati
 c way to get an overview for how therapies were distributed.\n\nThis paper
  presents a pilot study of a platform which shows the distribution of ther
 apeutic practices across the Buddhist and Daoist canons\, the communities 
 who wrote these texts\, and across time and space. It is being developed b
 y Dept. III of the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science and Nat
 ional Taiwan University’s Research Centre for Digital Humanities\, in co
 ncert with Dharma Drum Institute of Liberal Arts. The tool focusses on rep
 ertoires of material practice which can be identified as term lists. The c
 urrent study examines drug term distribution across Buddhist\, Daoist and 
 medical texts throughout Six Dynasties (ca 220-589 ce). It can show the st
 atistical distribution of large term sets across bibliographic and sectari
 an genres\, as well as time and space. We then markup texts for more detai
 led analysis\, which can then be visualised on GIS maps and subjected to a
 lgorithmic analysis.\n\nBy combining large-scale analytical tools and a fu
 ll-text database in the same platform\, this tool enables researchers to e
 asily switch between close and distant reading modes. While this pilot foc
 usses on drug knowledge\, it can be applied for any material practice whic
 h can be identified through large term set or vocabulary\, such as ritual 
 gestures\, acupuncture points\, body gods\, pantheons etc.\n\nFor more\, s
